My Story

I’ve always had an interest in working with children and my first job was as a childcare provider for a young boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder, whom I worked with for nearly 10 years!  Throughout graduate school, I honed in on my interest in working with children and families by working in various settings including schools, juvenile justice center, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Having two children solidified my passion for helping children and families connect and heal.

I have a strong love for learning about new cultures and traveled to Europe twice and Asia for one month all before age 18 and all on my own. I also have lived in Hawai’i. Yes, the beaches and people are amazing. And yes, it was so hard leaving paradise. When I’m not working, you can usually find me at the park with my family, cooking vegetarian dishes, or binge watching YouTube.

Change is possible. I see it every day – personally and professionally. I believe knowledge, daily commitment, love, patience are the special ingredients to thriving families.



Multicultural Emphasis

Cultural awareness and expertise is imperative to working with families from diverse backgrounds. I acknowledge and integrate each family’s different cultural background into my overall understanding to help inform treatment goals.

Safety and Trust

I strive to build strong relationships with my clients through genuine respect and curiosity for their unique circumstances. My approach is warm and collaborative, while also educational and direct.

Education, Training, & Clinical Experience

I attended California State University in Hayward and earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I then completed my Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology with a multicultural emphasis from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). My graduate training focused on developmental psychology, trauma, and child and adult assessment. My dissertation research examined how childhood trauma affected mothers’ perspectives of their child.

Prior to private practice, my clinical work post-licensure focused on conducting assessments for children and adults for the Department of Social Security, diagnostic assessments for veterans for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and evaluations for the Department of Rehabilitation.
